Education Technology Description
The purpose of this assignment was to read and reflect upon Januszwewski and Molenda's definition and description of Educational Technology in Chapter 1 of the book Educational Technolgy: A Definition with Commentary.
The purpose of this artifact is to create an original graphic that can be used to help someone understand just what it is I am studying. I have used the online tool https://piktochart.com/ to create my original graphics to represent the definition of educational technology.
This artifact can be used in a future classroom by making sure all the moving parts to this definition are in play. Quality facilitating, higher-level thinking, and setting up space for productive struggle is vital to the learning process. Collecting resources and tools for students to be successful are needed. Also, quality assessments and rubrics are required to make sure the process of improvement is continual.
I have learned that there are many moving parts to the definition of educational technology. Ethics, management, assessment, research, problem-solving, continual improvement of performance, higher-order thinking skills, and an increase in efficiency are all very important pieces to the process of educational technology. In order to truly understand what educational technology is about, it is important to understand each moving piece.
